Defensive coordinator Aden Durde has been requested for interview by the Atlanta Falcons, who fired Raheem Morris last week despite a four-game winning streak to end the season. It’s Durde’s second interview request, with the first one coming from the Cleveland Browns.
Starting defensive lineman Brandon Dorlus has also been ruled out for Week 14. Dorlus has a team-high six sacks this season. Former second-round pick Ruke Orhorhoro will replace Dorlus in the lineup against the Seahawks. Check out the Falcons' starting lineups for Week 14, including Pro Football Focus season grades for each player.
The long-rumored addition of Matt Ryan to the Atlanta Falcons front office is now done. Team owner Arthur Blank officially announced Ryan's hiring as Falcons president of football:
The Falcons have requested an interview with Seahawks defensive coordinator Aden Durde, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. League rules require that the interview take place by the end of the wild card round, giving Atlanta until Monday to complete their first formal meeting with Durde.
Klint Kubiak has turned Seattle into an elite offense, but other teams are now interviewing him for their head coach openings.
The Carolina Panthers are playoff-bound, and they didn’t even need to take the field to get there. Atlanta’s Week 18 win reshaped the NFC landscape, pushing Carolina into a wild-card spot and triggering a chain reaction that left several higher-profile teams on the outside looking in.
